This month, we pay tribute and say good-bye to one of the world’s most iconic, elegant and robust airliners – the McDonnell Douglas MD-11. Even though the last passenger flight was operated by KLM, Airways has chosen to honor the slick lines, shape, silhouette, and vortexgenerating capabilities of the “ eleven ” by placing this breathtaking twilight photo on the cover. This masterpiece, which reflects the headline of its own feature, was captured by our Staff Photographer, Tim de Groot.
